Police are issuing a warning to Northern Kentucky residents in regards to what they are calling a burglary epidemic in Kenton County.
Vacant homes are being targeted where the thieves can steal copper piping and appliances to sell. According to investigators, thousands of dollars worth of material can be stolen from just one home.
More than 70 burglaries have been reported in Kenton County this year. Police suspect the motives to be related to heroin, a growing problem in the area. Earlier this month, two men were arrested for the burglary of 11 vacant Northern Kentucky homes.
