Volunteers needed to make BG holiday parade a hit

BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The holiday season is kicking into full-swing, and the city of Bowling Green is asking for help to make one of their biggest events of the year a hit.

The holiday parade route has already been mapped out, and 115 floats have been planned. Lights are already wrapped around poles downtown.

With just a few days before the big day, preparations are in full-swing. Big crowds are expected again this year, but organizers say they need about 80 volunteers to make the parade unforgettable.

"It's just a nice kickoff to the holiday season, get everybody into the holiday spirit, kind of get them into the mood to enjoy the holidays," said Mike Lampasone, volunteer coordinator for the parade.

Volunteers must be at least high school age to participate. The parade will be Nov. 23 at 10 a.m.
