(WMC-TV) - A vote to put an end a lawsuit between the Shelby County School District and the towns of Arlington and Lakeland is a sign of progress for municipal schools.
Now another suburban mayor hopes this sets the tone for the remaining suburbs. Bartlett Mayor Keith McDonald has spent months leading the way for a municipal district formed in the suburb.
He says Tuesday's decision only paves the way for what is to come for Bartlett and the others.
"There's a little fatigue on everybody's part from the legal side. But we're trying to get back to the idea, let's get to educating the children and about that business. So, I think we are all ready to be about that," said McDonald.
The Bartlett Mayor says he expects some sort of agreement between SCS and Bartlett to be made by the end of this week, if not early next week.
An agreement with Germantown may be more complicated, given the current battle for certain schools.
