The Warren County Drug Task Force with collaboration from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, DEA Dayton and Columbus Offices, the RANGE Drug Task Force, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and Darke County Sheriff's Office, seized approximately 750 pounds of high-grade marijuana with a street value of close to $5,000 per pound.
This operation began Monday with the undercover purchase of 100 pounds of marijuana for $180,000 in Warren County, and the immediate service of six search warrants in Montgomery and Darke counties in Ohio.
The bulk of this seizure appears to have come from marijuana dispensaries in Oregon, Colorado and California, for the past several years. Also seized was a significant quantity of hashish, THC laced drinks, brownies, and candy, also sold in dispensaries in western states and transported to Ohio for resale.
A considerable amount of cash was also seized in this several month investigation and is being held for possible forfeiture. Two arrests have been made for the trafficking of the 100 pounds of marijuana, with additional indictments to come in the next few weeks.
