(WMC-TV) - A mother is looking for justice after her daughter was killed four years ago just after Thanksgiving. She believes domestic violence put her daughter in a situation that led her to death.
"It is really horrible. It really is for me, because the person that killed my child is still roaming around the street," said Ella Davis.
Ella has a feeling of dread around Thanksgiving; her daughter Sharvetress, one of five daughters, was killed two days after Thanksgiving 2009. A man drove over her at Mendenhall and Knight Arnold roads killing her. Even though the driver of that car ran over Sharvetress Davis, her mother blames her boyfriend for her death.
"She wound up in the street unconscious and the car came along and ran over her," said Ella.
Davis says her daughter was breaking up with her boyfriend and they were arguing. She was going to his apartment to get her belongings when she was hit.
Ella Davis does not believe the boyfriend's story about how her daughter ended up in the street before she was hit.
"He said she was upset and she 'laid' in the street," she said.
She also says four women stopped to help but they left. Davis believes they may have seen something.
"Everything is just tumbling down. Everything and the hurting part that hurts so bad. There is no closure," said Ella
Davis says no one was charged in the case because she says there were no witnesses. She says the boyfriend moved out west, and she hopes someone comes forward.
