(WMC-TV) - The Peabody Hotel is spreading holiday cheer with a special visitor expected on Friday.
Guests are already getting into the holiday spirit, thanks to the help of the gingerbread display in the hotel lobby. And the scent of it is wafting through the historic hotel.
This year, the annual display features the Grinch and Whoville from Dr. Seuss' holiday classic "How the Grinch Stole Christmas."
"Well, actually I've never seen anything like it. It's really incredible," said Savannah Kelley, who visited the display. "There's so much candy, all of the details. It must have taken so much time. It's really amazing."
Work on the gingerbread village started in September.
It took a total of 400 hours to complete the delicious little town.
The Peabody Hotel will host its tree lighting Friday, with Santa's arrival expected at 5 p.m.
