There's football, all those parades, and a hot kitchen where a turkey's been roasting for hours. This is the typical American Thanksgiving. But for many people that's changing.
They'd rather eat out.
15 million Americans will leave the entire Thanksgiving meal to restaurant professionals --- everything from cooking to the dishes. That's an increase of one million since 2011, according to the National Restaurant Association.
But the key is finding a restaurant that's special to your family.
"You're not just somebody who walked in the door that they're feeding," said Rick Browne, author of A Century of Restaurants. "They have relationships with them, so you feel like you've come home when you walk in the restaurant."
And that makes the day less about cooking a meal and more about spending time with the special people in your life.
