The city will begin instituting its annual moratorium on water shut-offs.
Beginning Monday, Dec. 16 the city will not disconnect water service for customers who are unable to make payment.
Approximately 675 customers per month have their water service disconnected due to non-payment.
The moratorium lasts through Wednesday, Jan. 1.
The Akron Water Supply Bureau provides retail water and sewer service to approximately 85,000 accounts in Summit County including Fairlawn, Mogadore and portions of Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Bath, Springfield, Copley and Coventry townships.
