Parking bans in place for weekend storm

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

With projected snowfall totals continuing to climb for this weekend, many Western Massachusetts cities and towns will institute parking bans. 

The following towns and cities have notified CBS 3 about their upcoming bans:

Agawam:  The parking ban is in effect from Saturday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, Dec. 15, at 6 p.m.  No parking on the street is allowed.

Springfield: The parking ban is in effect from Saturday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. and will end at 7 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 16. There will be no parking on the even side of streets from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and no parking on the odd side of streets from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Chicopee: The parking ban is in effect from Saturday, Dec. 14, at 10 p.m. and lasts until 10 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15. No parking is allowed on main streets and there is no parking allowed on the even side of secondary streets.

Longmeadow: The parking ban will begin from the time winter precipitation begins on Saturday, Dec. 14, until 12 hours after the precipitation ends. There will be no parking allowed on any streets except for emergency vehicles.

West Springfield: The citywide parking ban goes into effect on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 12 p.m. and continues until further notice.

Holyoke: The city's parking ban goes into effect at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 12 p.m. and continues until Monday, Dec. 16, at 7 a.m. No parking is allowed on the odd side of any street unless otherwise posted.  Beginning Monday morning at 7 a.m., the city will have a reverse parking ban in effect for 12 hours. That means no parking on the even side of any street.

Monson: The townwide parking ban goes into effect on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 12 p.m. and will continue until further notice.

Easthampton: A citywide parking ban goes into effect at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, and continues until 12 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15.

Greenfield:  A townwide parking ban goes into effect on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 4 p.m. and continues until 12 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15. Parking is prohibited on both sides of the street.
