ATHENS, GA (RNN) – Georgia hopes to continue its winning ways at home as the Dawgs welcome the Gardner Webb Runnin' Bulldogs to Athens on Thursday afternoon.

The Dawgs have improved to 4-4 and hope the fourth of their five-game homestand ends in victory. Gardner-Webb comes in as a representative of the Big South Conference and with a 6-6 record. This will be the third matchup all-time against the two teams, with Georgia leading the series 2-0.

Georgia came into the week with an impressive statistic: the Dawgs were ranked 37th in Division I in field goal percentage (.490).

GWU's leading scorer is redshirt senior guard Naji Hibbert, who averaged 12.6 points per game. Freshman guard Jerome Hill, a native of Adel, GA, is averaging 11.9 points per game.

Georgia's last game ended in an 84-75 win against Lipscomb on Dec. 14. Sophomore Taylor Echols scored a career-high 17 points in his first starting role.

Tipoff between the two teams is 11:30 ET in Stegeman Coliseum, and the Dawgs will host more than 5,000 Athens-Clarke County school children, faculty and staff on the last day of the fall semester.
