WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A club owner in Wilmington faces criminal charges after an early morning raid by police.

Agents with Alcohol Law Enforcement and Wilmington Police detained 20 people when they raided Mya's Meeting Hall at about 5:00 a.m. Saturday.

Using a search warrant, law enforcement found a firearm, marijuana, MDMA, moonshine, beer and non-tax paid liquor, according to Wilmington police.

Officers had been investigating the club, located at 3342 Wrightsville Avenue, for about a month. Police report that they received several complaints about the club.

Lorenzo Sharpe, the club's owner, is charged with several alcohol violations. A patron at the club, Charles D'Andre Richardson, faces drug charges.
