MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
The Montgomery Police Department has charged a second suspect, Satarus Smith, in the Dec. 11 shooting death of Charles Holley, 22, of Montgomery.
Smith, 24, of Montgomery was taken into custody Monday, Jan. 13, by the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force and charged with murder. Smith is being held under a $75,000 bond.
Previously, the Task Force took 22-year-old Christopher Williams into custody as well, and MPD later charged him with murder in Holley's death. Williams is also being held with a $75,000 bond.
Holley was shot around 7 p.m. December 11th at the Gibbs Village Housing Community in the 1900 block of Gibbs Drive. Witnesses said he was shot in the back. He was being treated at a Montgomery hospital, but died of his injuries on December 30th.
