A lawsuit has been filed against Kentucky State Representative Ben Waide accusing him of misusing his company's finances for personal use and for financing his campaign.
There are two plaintiffs who represent shareholders of Liberty Rehabilitation Corporation. Waide is president and director of the corporation.
"The lawsuit filed today is loaded with misinformation and is a blatant political attack against Rep. Waide. The truth and evidence will show that the other shareholders extracted more profits from the business than did Mr. Waide and that they have incurred absolutely no financial damage whatsoever. We intend to vigorously defend these allegations and we look forward to our day in court."
14 News also spoke with Attorney John Whitfield, who represents the plaintiffs. He says he will move quickly to ask the court to appoint a third party to oversee the finances of Liberty Rehabilitation.
