CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Cleveland fans aren't the only ones talking about Chud's firing.

Sports reporters are all talking about how the Cleveland Browns are the laughing stock of the league.

It hurts to hear, but that is a common feeling nationally.

Another coaching change for the Browns and a lot of people are saying here we go again.

The Bleacher Report website calls the Browns losers, and says quote "this is what losers do. Fire a head coach after one season."

Local radio host Chuck Booms talked about how the franchise is viewed.

"Unfortunately, as a joke.  And that hurts me as a lifelong Browns fan," said Chuck Booms of 92.3 The Fan.

A USA Today article says the Browns need stability and an ESPN article says the team's next coach will come with the same old promises.

"If you were able to get a Bill Cower, a Tony Dungy, that puts an end to it right away," added Booms.

Some who follow the team closely say firing Coach Chud after a 4-12 season is not a surprise.

I think you also have to give the organization a lot of credit.  The guys came out and admitted "Hey, we made a mistake. We should have never hired him," said Hanford Dixon, Former Browns Player.

"I think most of us that follow the Browns thought he probably never should have got it in the first place," stated Booms.

Meantime, fans will see articles like this calling the Browns franchise "the biggest joke in all of sports."

Still, former Browns star Hanford Dixon thinks the team is close to a turnaround.

"You've got 5, 6 Pro Bowl players on this team.  You just need a player here, a player there.  And you need a coach at the helm that knows what he's doing," added Dixon.

The next Browns coach will be the eighth since the team returned to Cleveland in 1999.
