More often than not, New Year's resolutions are about
trying to change.
We age. We lose hair. We gain weight. Things
go wrong. In response, we resolve to somehow look and act like our younger
Well life is short; shorter than I ever thought. So
how about a New Year's resolution to accept change as a fact of life? For
example, I am getting older, but because I am still alive, I get to enjoy my
children as adults and share in their life experiences. Sure, things have
gone wrong, but on balance, more things have gone right and I have been pretty
fortunate. You get the idea.
So I think, for a change, I will try to smile more this
year. Happy New Year.
