Cleveland Indians' longtime play-by-play announcer Tom Hamilton, of WTAM radio, has won the 2013 Sportscaster for the Year award for the state of Ohio, as presented by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriter Association and Hall of Fame.
This is his sixth time winning the award in his career.
Tom Hamilton has been announcing for the Tribe for 24 seasons, including the 1995 and 1997 World Series. Hamilton started in 1990, after three years broadcasting the AAA Columbus Clippers.
Finalists for the award were nominated by NSSA members in October and November, and the final vote took place in December.
The Sportswriter of the Year for Ohio was awarded to Hal McCoy of the Dayton Daily News and Fox Sports Ohio. It is his 14th win.
