Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange is running for re-election.
Strange filed his candidate paperwork and paid the associated fee Monday at the Alabama State Republican Headquarters in Hoover.
Strange says political corruption was a top priority in his first term and now he will have other items on his agenda for a second term.
"We've got to continue on this mission which we are on which is holding BP accountable. The biggest case in Alabama's history that has been my top priority. Then of course our biggest charge is keeping people safe," Strange said.
Strange says he will also be challenging Washington D.C. to hold the federal government accountable to the Constitution whether it's over Obamacare, religious freedom or gun rights.
