A judge ruled that the statements Colorado movie theater shooter James Holmes made to investigators can be used at trial.
Holmes reportedly told police about his plot after he was taken into custody. He did not have a lawyer at the time but the judge determined Holmes' statements were not forced or coerced.
Holmes is charged with 166 counts of murder, attempted murder and other offenses committed during a mass shooting in an Aurora, CO movie theater shooting on July 20, 2012.
12 people were killed during a screening of The Dark Knight Rises.
