NEW ALBANY, IN (WAVE) – One man was taken to the hospital after a house fire early Thursday morning.
According to the New Albany Fire Department, a call was received around 4:30 about a fire in a one-story Shelby Street home. Fire fighters were able to have the flames under control in about 15 minutes.
Two rooms in the home were involved. The occupant was taken to Clark Memorial Hospital for smoke inhalation and minor burns.
According to the arson investigator, New Albany police were dispatched to the residence several times on domestic related runs Wednesday. A woman and child left the home at some point that night.
The investigator is still processing the scene and hasn't confirmed any cause or connection yet.
