It's finally here. Brand-spanking new Charlotte Hornets gear. The apparel goes on sale Saturday at the team store at Time Warner Cable Arena.
Super fan Scotty Kent can't wait to get his hands on the new apparel.
"I'm ready to stop wearing the old logo and start wearing the new," he said.
Decked out in vintage Hornets gear -- from his hat to his T-shirt down to the purple and teal sneakers -- the co-founder of the grassroots campaign, Brink Back the Buzz says this unveiling is a big moment for fans.
"It's kind of the rejuvenation of Hornets nation," said Kent. It's a rebuilding of the city's support for this team."
Support he has been instrumental in galvanizing since the campaign to bring back the Hornets name first started in 2010. Kent just hopes the store is ready for the demand.
"I hope they're anticipating what we're anticipating based off the feedback we're getting from our followers, it's going to go right away," he said. "This thing is gonna be sold out."
Dave Cromar who runs the team store says the demand for the old logo was big.
"We'd open a box, put it on the shelf and it would be gone the next day," he recalled.
So he is certain even more fans will be clamoring for the new stuff and added, "we've been waiting for this day."
So have fans like Kent who say the new apparel is just the beginning.
"This city is on their heels, you know on the edge of their seats, waiting for a good franchise to support."
Season ticket holders will get first dibs on the merchandise. The team store will open at 3 p.m. Saturday for them. It opens to the general public at 6:30 p.m.
It will also be open on Sunday -- special hours -- from noon to 5 p.m.
