Dr. Donovan Gray Answers That Question in New Book "Dude, Where's My Stethoscope?"

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Jan. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- "Dude, Where's My Stethoscope?" is Dr. Donovan Gray's new, laugh-out-loud funny, heartbreaking and sometimes poignant collection of true-life medical short stories.

"Dude" follows Dr. Gray through medical school and two decades of unforgettable ER and family practice. Written in an engaging mash-up of formal prose and medical slang with a nod to pop culture and ancient mythology, "Dude" is a powerful book that captures the essence of what it is to be an emergency room doctor.

"Gray's book is funny, touching, biting, and always revealing. Like all good ER physicians, he tells you what he's really thinking. Like all good writers, he does it with style," said Dr. Brian Goldman, host of CBC's award-winning "White Coat, Black Art" and author of "The Night Shift."

"Dr. Gray has managed to both humorize and humanize the medical profession by sharing moments of his private life along with his professional life. His heartwarming and hilarious stories caused tears of laughter, and at times, tears of sadness. We got a peek behind the curtain and I want more. I cannot wait for your next book, Dr. Gray," said Kathy Jensen, Amazon Top Reviewer.

"Dude, Where's My Stethoscope?" also relates many details of medical life you may have wondered about, including:

  • What it's like to save a life
  • Why some docs are attracted to the helter-skelter lifestyle of emergency medicine
  • And most importantly, whether anyone is actually having sex in those equipment storage rooms!
