Single family home permits were up 29 percent last year compared to 2012, the
Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati said Thursday.
There were a total of 2,058 new home permits issued in Butler, Clermont, Hamilton and Warren counties last year compared to 1,596 issued in 2012.
Warren County had the highest number of new permits with 756, followed by Butler County with 533, Hamilton County with 424 and Clermont County with 345.
The four counties had a combined total of 2,286 new housing permits last year, which included 2,058 single-family and 228 condos and apartments.
Liberty Township in Butler County led all local jurisdictions with 237
"Pent-up demand, historically low interest rates and an overall stabilization of housing values has firmed up consumer confidence in the market," said Dan Dressman, the association's executive director.
