Dewayne Thompson, wanted in the wounding and kidnapping of 17-year-old Katelyn Beard, has been captured by Jackson Police. He was taken into custody around 5:45 in west Jackson near where Beard's vehicle was found earlier today.

A burning cross, a Smith county man beaten and shot by a family member, and in critical condition. We are told this is much more than a family feud, and outraged family members are calling it a "hate crime."
Perrysburg elementary is added several new preschool classes where children
will be cared for all day.
next year, four classrooms will be added to St. Rose Catholic School. They will
be state-of-the-art and equipped with smart boards, but the classrooms aren't
the only things expanding.
now, St. Rose preschool is only half a day and housed in a separate building.
The new program will be a full day, increase enrollment and call for an
additional teacher. Next year, there will be four classes for 4-year-olds,
three for 3-year-olds and a mixed class for four 4- and 5-year-olds all under
the same roof as the elementary school.
