CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Two shooters broke into a duplex home January 27 and murdered Lydia Aviles and her 20-year-old son Alexis Mook Colon.

His older brother Benny was shot too, but he survived and is alive at MetroHealth Medical Center.

Lydia's daughter Precious Mook Colon told 19 Action News, "I am holding up the best I can because my brother and dad need me."

In an exclusive interview with our Scott Taylor, Precious Colon told us her mom and Benny Mook Colon were both born in Puerto Rico.

Her mom loved the beach, and her parents had been married for more than 20 years.

Lydia loved the beach and put her family first.

She moved from Florida to Ashtabula over the summer.

Both brothers had attended Valencia College in Florida before transferring to online courses here in Ohio.

They also both loved to draw and are very talented artists.

Benny has career goals of being an animator with Disney.

Their sister said, "They always wanted to focus on school and drawing, and make sure every little detail in that picture was perfect."

Alexis, who's nickname is "Xavi", and Precious were two peas in a pod.

Both enjoy singing and music.

A Memorial Fund has been set up under the name of Mook-Colon-Aviles at any First Merit Bank to help cover funeral expenses.

Precious Colon told us, "My Brothers always protected me and made sure I was safe."

Since the shooting Colon and her dad have been at Benny's side at MetroHealth Medical Center where he's fighting for his life.

"He is still in the same condition. He is fighting. We have to keep him in our prayers and hope he makes it thru. I need one Brother at least," affirmed Colon.
