Did your favorite restaurant come in clean or dirty in this week's Restaurant Ratings Report?
The American Table Family Restaurant is at fault for having 12 violations. When inspectors dropped by the Oregon location, there was no chef and no manager on site, as well as no one with knowledge of food safety. Inspectors found food on the floor, along with ham, beef and fish thawing on a counter. Beef was also noted at an unsafe food temperature and tossed into the garbage.
Another restaurant with 12 violations was the South End Bar & Grille in south Toledo. Inspectors noted food at unsafe temperatures in a cooler, build-up inside the ice machine, significant build-up inside beverage guns, and heavy build-up on walls and ceiling tiles.
Seven violations to report at China House in Maumee. Bug spray was found with other chemicals in need of being removed. Additionally, inspectors found cooked chicken sitting out at room temperature and raw meats stored above cooked products, which is a cross-contamination issue. Inspectors are asking staff to clean and maintain the dry storage room.
South Toledo's Black Pearl on Heatherdowns Boulevard is working to change six violations. Inspectors caught the chef handling food without gloves during their latest walk thru.
A fan of sports and food? The Bavarian Sports Club along Lagrange Street in north Toledo is serving up no violations.
Georgio's on North Superior Street in Toledo also comes in very clean, along with downtown Toledo's PJ's Deli on Madison Avenue.
