Cleveland (WOIO) - The Cleveland State Vikings continued their march towards a possible Horizon League title on Thursday night, pulling away from Illinois-Chicago in the second half for a 73-53 win at the Wolstein Center.
The Vikings got a game-high 18 points from Garfield Heights native Trey Lewis, who was 4 of 5 from three-point land, as well as 15 points from both Bryn Forbes and Jon Harris.
The win was the 7th straight for CSU, and improves the Vikings to 18-9 on the season, 9-3 within the Horizon League. It also sets up a huge Saturday afternoon showdown against first-place Green Bay at the Wolstein Center.
The Vikings are fighting for home-court advantage in the league tournament. It would take winning the tournament to punch a ticket to the Big Dance, the NCAA Tournament. At-large bids are seldom awarded to Horizon League teams.
