Waffle House on South Reynolds Road led this week's Restaurant Ratings Report with 16 violations. Upon arrival, inspectors found no one on staff food safety certified. They also witnessed an employee handling food with fake nails and no gloves, plus found dead cockroaches around the facility.
Wei Wei Restaurant on North Reynolds Road comes in second with 13 violations. Inspectors found no hot water available during their visit, but the issue was later fixed. Chicken was also sitting out at room temperature and food was being stored inside old T-shirt bags.
At the Star of India on South Reynolds Road, five violations were served up, including insect traps in the food prep area.
