Indianapolis, IN (WOIO) - Add Joe Haden to the growing list of Johnny Manziel supporters. The Browns' Pro Bowl cornerback, during a guest spot on NFL Network at the Combine on Tuesday, saying he'd love for the Browns to draft Manziel with the 4th overall pick in April's draft.
"I would have no problem with it", Haden said. "I love Manziel. Man, Manziel, I love the way he plays. I love his passion. You need that, especially with a young team that we have with the Browns. He'd bring that fire to us, man, just that excitement. With Johnny Football, you never know what he's gonna do on a play. I like that about him."
Haden was also asked about his current quarterback, Brian Hoyer, and was complimentary about the way Hoyer can manage a game.
"He had it going, moving pretty good", Haden said, referring to the back-to-back wins Hoyer racked up before tearing his ACL. "He was controlling it. We have Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron, pretty good playmakers. He (Hoyer) was doing a good job."
But Haden saved his strongest comments for Manziel, the dynamic, and polarizing, 2012 Heisman Trophy winner out of Texas A&M.
"No matter who he plays for, I'm gonna be a Johnny Football fan."
