High waters causing headaches at Perrysburg mobile home park

PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -

High waters are causing serious flooding in Perrysburg, and several streets at the Village Green Mobile Home Park are underwater.

Residents say this isn't the first time the community has flooded, but this is the worst it's ever been, and the weather is to blame.

"The water just kept coming, and it doesn't help none when the ditches are full. There is no place to put it," said Billie Jo Sanchez.

A park van drives through the flood waters, taking residents to and from their homes. Those with cars say the water is above their tires. Many cars are frozen where they are parked.

Sanchez managed to move her vehicle, but now she says it won't start.

"Ice filled up into my car and it froze the alternator," she said. "Now I'm just trying to get it to work."

While residents say their homes have not flooded, the high water is still causing headaches for them.

"We haven't gotten the mail in a few days because it gets really deep inside the mailbox," said Joseph Smith.

They say they don't even want to think about what will happen with all the water freezes over.
