Wildwood Preserve to make bridge and walkway more user-friendly

Posted: Updated:
TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Major plans are in store for a walkway at Wildwood Preserve. Lucas County Metroparks has accepted a $1.4 million bid to fix a bridge and walkway.

The majority of the work consists of demolition of the existing steel walkway superstructure, wood deck, as well as wood and steel railing system.

The walkway will also be reconstructed with concrete beams, as opposed to wood, making it easier to walk on during slippery conditions.

The construction will start in March and is expected to last 120 days.
