Nick Goepper's hometown of Lawrenceburg, Ind. and Perfect North Slopes are hosting a parade and celebration for the 2014 Winter Olympic bronze medalist on Saturday.
The parade starts at 10:30 a.m. on Walnut Street in downtown Lawrenceburg. The parade finishes at Lawrenceburg High School where a celebration will take place. WLW radio personality Jim Scott, who lives in the area, will emcee.
The parade route starts at the corner of High and Walnut streets and then proceeds to Walnut Street crossing U.S. 50 to Lawrenceburg High School.
Goepper has two close friends whose lives cystic fibrosis and diabetes has impacted. He will sign autographs at the celebration. United Community Bank will accept donations for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the American Diabetes Association.
"I appreciate all the good fortune that has come my way and it is part of my personal mission to look for ways to give back to others," Goepper said.
The program will be the last event at the school's gymnasium before it is demolished.
Goepper returned Feb. 25 to Lawrenceburg and spoke at a celebration that day at Lawrenceburg High School.
