A Vanderburgh County jury finds Jerry Dulin not guilty of murder.
Officials say Donnie DeJarnett Jr. was driving down New York Ave when Dulin shot him in the head, causing the vehicle to crash into several fences and a tree.
14 News was in the courtroom as dozens of witnesses testified in the case. Dulin's family said they felt threatened by DeJarnett.
The defense argued Dulin felt like his life was in danger and he shot DeJarnett in self-defense.
DeJarnett's mother tells us she wants to hear from Dulin himself.
"I would like to know if he has any remorse for what he has done to my son," said Barbara. "I want to know if he even felt that my son deserved to die the way he did."
Barbara also told 14 News a guilty verdict would have brought her family the justice they have needed for the past year.
The jury deliberated for four hours in the case.
