Despite having to close the dealership for two days in
January, managers at Rouen Chrysler Jeep Dodge says they have set
sales records so far this year.
In January of 2013, the dealership sold 57
new cars and 57 new cars. In January of this year, Rouen saw 71 new and 79 used
cars roll off the lot.
With record snowfall and cold temperatures, the
dealer says 4-wheel-drive vehicles are the best sellers so far this year.
"Last couple of years have been mild, so
this year obviously it's been colder than normal. A lot of cars don't start so
people are replacing those cars. Snow, snow, and more snow. So people that
would normally be ok with two wheel drives are upgrading to 4x4's and then of
course the increase of snow, increases accidents, so you have people that have
to replace vehicles also," said General Manager Kevin Carnicom.
Even with the growth in sales, Carnicom says
employees at the dealership are ready for spring.
"I guess if we have to take another winter
like this to increase sales - I guess we would do it. We're ready for it to be
over with," said Carnicom.
