A possible fight is brewing over a new Kroger Marketplace in West Chester.
The proposed site is at the intersection of Tylersville road and 747.
The proposed Kroger Marketplace has become very controversial for people living in this area.
The 36 acre site would become the second largest marketplace in the state.
There are two sides to this proposed development. People in favor say they need a new Kroger and it would be a good economic boost for the area.
On the flip side, others living in the community say it would decrease property values, increase traffic and create a safety risk because of a lack of sidewalks.
Trustees are expected to hold a second reading of the amendment tonight to approve the zoning map amendment and the preliminary development plans for the marketplace.
They could also vote on the issue. The developer has approval from the zoning commission. To move forward, there needs to be a simple majority.
The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. tonight and is open to the public.
Again, this would be the second largest marketplace store. The largest is in Centerville, Ohio.
