Evansville Police are searching for suspects involved in a home invasion robbery on the city's west side.
Kimberly Hutchins and her mom live in an apartment in the 900 block of Oakley Street. She says she was watching TV around 10:30 Monday night when she got the scare of her life.
Hutchins says she heard a loud boom sounding at her front door. Moments later, she says three men came into her home, pointed a gun at her, and demanded money.
She tells 14 News that she gave them $90 she had on her and says the suspects took $80 from her mother's room. Hutchins says her mom tried to attack one of the suspects, but was thrown to the ground and kicked.
The suspects eventually got away with the money, but Hutchins thinks she knows one of them.
"I started backing up. He told me, 'Sit the **** down.' I'm like, 'OK, I'll sit down. I have no problem.' I said, 'Just don't shoot me.' I mean, like I told the cops, the voice that was in the kitchen, the one that would not come in the living room, I know who it was. I know why he wouldn't come in the living room because I know the voice," Hutchins tells 14 News.
Hutchins says the suspects took her cell phone too, but that was later recovered by police searching the area.
A K-9 unit was called to track the suspects but police were unable to find them. Hutchins is working with police to identify the man she says was a part of the burglary.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to call EPD at (812) 436-7979.
