Grant could solve flooding problem at Sylvania park

SYLVANIA, OH (Toledo News Now) -

City officials say every time it rains at Harroun Park in Sylvania the water flows downstream, creating massive creators.

They say it's important to fix the problem before someone gets hurt.

The city plans to apply for an $82,000 grant to correct the erosion problem that happens with storm water flows from the Saint Joseph parking lot on Main Street down into the park.

The project would create a place for water to flow away from any pathways.

The grant would only pay for part of the $105,000 project. The city will be paying $11,000 and another $11,000 would be paid by Saint Joseph.

The city expects to hear back about the grant money in June.
