Cleveland firefighter accused of stealing HazMat equipment

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A Cleveland firefighter has been indicted for stealing HazMat equipment from the department.

Damien Csiszar has been charged by Cuyahoga County Prosecutors with theft and theft in office.

Court records show the value of the equipment is between $1,000 and $7,500.

Csiszar's status with the department in light of the charges is unclear. Though city employees facing charges usually get suspended without pay as the case plays out.
