PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -

PENTA Career Center opened its doors to 2,400 eighth grade students on Wednesday, giving them a glimpse at the career training the center offers.

The event helped students envision themselves in their future careers – from zoology to paramedics to engineering, even journalism.

"This is a very critical day for these eight graders to get them thinking about what it is I might want to do in the future," said PENTA Superintendent Ron Matter.

Students agree the experience was beneficial, and understand the appeal of attending PENTA.

"Right out of high school you already know what you want to do and how you can go about doing it," said Sidney St. Andre, who plans to become a film director and producer.
