Suspect sought in auto theft from Scottsdale

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

Scottsdale police are asking the public's help in identifying an automobile theft suspect.

A man left his silver Ford Escort running and unattended near Roosevelt Street and Hayden Road in Scottsdale about 5 a.m. March 5, according to a Scottsdale Police Department report.

The Escort, which contained the man's wallet, was stolen and about a half-hour later, the suspect used the victim's credit card at a Jack in the Box restaurant at 5145 N. 59th Avenue in Glendale.

The suspect was filmed by the restaurant's surveillance camera, and a short while later, the Escort was found abandoned nearby.

The victim was described as white or Hispanic, 20 to 30 years old with a mustache.
