The Sax Man is Maurice Reedus, Jr. The documentary about his life plays again Sunday at 7:45 p.m. and again on Monday, March 24.
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -
The Sax Man has been noticed by thousands of Clevelanders, and now Hollywood has taken notice, too. Screening of a documentary about his life is being shown during the Cleveland International Film Festival.
The Sax Man is Maurice Reedus, Jr.
Reedus is a popular fixture around Progressive Field and at Playhouse Square. He's turned into an acoustic Cleveland icon and that ascent has captured the attention of Hollywood.
Joe Siebert directed a documentary about the high's and lows of Reedus' life; for instance, he is the son of a Grammy-award winning saxophone player.
Reedus tells 19 Action News he would welcome a chance to go back to his first love performing on stage, but for now his only stage is here on the streets of Cleveland.
Screening of the documentary shows at the Hannah Theatre on Sunday, March 23 at 7:45 p.m., Monday at 12:10 p.m. and on Sunday, March 30 at 4:45 p.m.
For anyone who can't make the screening at The Hanna Theatre, Reedus is planning on setting the sound stage for The Tribe's season opener on April 4.
