Cleveland (WOIO) - Have the Browns signed an accident-prone athlete? That's what inquiring minds wanted to know at the NFL Owners Meetings in Orlando on Tuesday. Ben Tate's durability was brought up during Mike Pettine's session with the media, and the Browns head coach insists he's not concerned about his newly acquired running back.
"I don't have any issues with his durability", Pettine said, according to an interview transcript from the Pro Football Writers of America. "He had a couple of things. Here's a guy that had four broken ribs, and played through it. It wasn't until he had the fifth one broken that he couldn't go anymore. He broke an ankle (in 2010).
In fact, Pettine even said that it's in the Browns' favor to have a guy on the field with a chip on his shoulder, and some extra motivation to play.
