The man accused of killing his ex-wife's new lover was in court today.
Police say David Zielinski shot and stabbed 20-year-old Michael Jackson last July. Zielinski was found competent to stand trial last month. Zielinski has pleaded not guilty. His trial is set to begin at the end of the month.
Zielinski was in court on Tuesday for his last pre-trial hearing before the trial begins on April 28.
Zielinski's attorney asked that the court cover the cost to hire a technological expert on Tuesday. The defense apparently wants the expert to recover deleted Facebook messages or pages.
The judge told the defense to subpoena Facebook for the deleted data before the court would consider hiring the expert.
Zielinski's attorney has until Wednesday morning to file a request to hire the expert, if needed. The prosecution was urged to respond to that request immediately.
