Cavaliers keep playoff hopes alive

Posted: Updated:

Orlando, Fl (WOIO) - Dion Waiters scored a game-high 26 points, and Kyrie Irving added 17 points and 8 assists in his return from a bicep injury, as the Cavaliers kept their slim playoff hopes alive with a 119-98 win over the Magic at Amway Center.

Irving, back on the court for the first time in nine games, started alongside Waiters in the Cavs' backcourt and played 28 minutes. The Cavs jumped out to an early lead over the Magic, and cruised to the win, thanks to 20 points from each of their big men, Tristan Thompson and Spencer Hawes.

The Cavaliers are just two games behind the Knicks for the 8th and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, with six games to play.
