Coming or going to Friday's Home Opener at Progressive Field -- don't even think about taking Chester Avenue.
It is a maze of orange barrels and it's down to one lane from the innerbelt into and out of downtown.
Yes, there will be delays on Chester and plenty of aggravation.@
And you should definitely avoid 9th Street, between Euclid and Prospect.
Construction on the new county office building and the new apartments complexes on both sides of East 9th have you down to just one lane south, and two lanes north.
This promises to be a mess since people, for some reason, flock to 9th, as if it's the only way in or out of the city.
There are ways to avoid sitting in traffic and getting steamed...
Public transportation always is a good idea -- take the bus or hop on a train.
RTA is adding cars to its red line and they are expecting heavy traffic.
Or you could cab it...
"If you know how to maneuver through the city you'll be all right," said a Cleveland cab driver.
But not everyone knows the city like a cabbie so another option is, find a shuttle. Great Lakes Brewing figures they'll shuttle, at minimum, 200 people to the ballpark.
"You can come in here before the game grab a beer take the shuttle over, the shuttle brings you right back here after the game, grab a meal do whatever you want," said Jeff West of Great Lakes Brewing.
