(WMC-TV) – A 7-year-old boy who nearly drowned in the bathtub at an apartment in Jackson, Tenn. is being treated at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.
The boy was found unresponsive in the bathtub by his older brother around 8:15 p.m. Monday. When police arrived, the mother was performing CPR on the boy.
The 7-year-old was first taken to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, but was later taken by helicopter to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital where he remains in extremely critical condition.
According to police, the circumstances surrounding the near drowning are under investigation. Tennessee Department of Children's Services (DCS) is also investigating.
