A burning cross, a Smith county man beaten and shot by a family member, and in critical condition. We are told this is much more than a family feud, and outraged family members are calling it a "hate crime."
Eastwood school officials are still in the design process. They're working to figure out how and when is the best time to rebuild an administration building and bus garage destroyed by fire in January.
After weeks of working out of a trailer, staff members moved into a once vacant school building. Now officials' main concern is figuring out the best way to rebuild their school bus garage.
Until a new one is built, the busses have been sharing a space with agriculture students and getting maintained in between their classes.
Leaders say there are still a lot of unanswered questions.
"So what do we want in a bus garage? Kind of what will insurance cover? How are we going to do that? Where are we going to locate? So those are the kinds of things that we do," said Superintendent Brent Welker.
Welker says when they do get everything mapped out they plan on possibly selling the formerly abandoned school building administrators have been working.
