Editorial by Tracey Rogers, Action News 5 general manager:
(WMC-TV) - Recently, I talked about the backlog of rape kits in Memphis and how I had concerns the blame game was keeping us from making progress in solving the problem.
I was particularly concerned about what appeared to be finger pointing between the District Attorney's Office and the police department.
To Memphis Mayor A.C. Wharton's credit, he responded to my editorial and shared with me he did not want anyone in his administration placing blame for what happened.
He is owning the problem and has developed a plan to fix it.
I have seen the plan, and I'm anxious to tell you it gives me hope this situation will be resolved and the survivors will find the justice they are looking for.
I want you to see it, too. Go to my Facebook page, like A Better Mid-South and you will find a link there. You can also write me a message on that page.

Let's support this plan and ask our lawmakers to fund it. Getting the rape kit backlog resolved will make this A Better Mid-South.
