(WMC-TV) - A Memphis mother says East High School is out of control, and points to her family's arrest this week as evidence.

Memphis police say a fight at East High School turned into a family affair. A student, her brother and their mother all ended up behind bars. The student ended up at Juvenile Court. Her mom and brother in adult jail; all are accused of raising a ruckus at East High School.

A day after Tamika Price's mug shot was printed in the paper and aired on TV, the East High mother contacted WMC Action News 5.

"I didn't bum rush the school. I went to the main office," she said.

Surrounded by family for moral support, she said school security and police got it wrong when they arrested her, her adult son, and 15-year-old daughter following a fight.

"For the last two months it's been this incident going on with the same girl, and now it's extended to three boys and one girl that's always harassing her," said Prince.

Things came to a head Wednesday, and Price came to the school. She said they were leaving when a group of kids confronted them.

Her son tried to break it up as security intervened.

"They just pepper-sprayed my kids, not the ones coming out and being aggressive," said Prince.

Price's daughter, who she said is an honors student, is having the hardest time.

"She's never been arrested, never had handcuffs on her or anything, and she is frightened, had nightmares about the situation last night," said aunt Monica Moye.

Prince was charged with assault and criminal trespass. A criminal affidavit states Price pushed officers after her son and daughter were pepper-sprayed, but staff members were the ones who called her to the school.

"Like 'Lean On Me,' the movie, 'Lean On Me,' that's how it is over there," said Prince.

Price said the family's attorney is working on what to do next.
