A group of students at the University of Toledo is developing a plan to put a healing garden on the grounds of the Dana Cancer Center at the University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC).
Organizers say the purpose of the garden is to provide patients and survivors a healthy outlet to escape the worries of cancer. They say the healing garden will provide patients with an outlet for outdoor exercise and build bonds among those who help to grow it. One of the goals is to grow fresh produce, providing healthy food choices to the community.
Students are hoping to collect donations, which will fund garden art and the seeds needed to get the garden started.
