The Cincinnati Zoo's four-day-old female giraffe now has a name.

The Zoo asked their Facebook and Twitter followers to suggest a name for the baby, and they received more than 7,000 responses. After selecting their top four names, giraffe keepers left the final decision to the public.

The four finalists were Nasha, Amaya, Akila, and Alia.

Nasha was selected as the official name of the baby giraffe, securing nearly 23 percent of the vote, according to the zoo.

Nasha is the Maasai word for "one who comes with the rains." Cincinnati saw rain and thunder on April 28, Nasha's birthday.

The Zoo says Nasha is healthy at 154 pounds and is bonding with her mother Tessa. Visitors can view Nasha and Tessa through the windows of the indoor stall at Giraffe Ridge. They'll make their outdoor debut in a few weeks.

The Zoo's twitter followers got an intimate look at Nasha's first moments while her keepers live-tweeted her birth on Monday using #GiraffeBirth
